The site is located in north east Agios Athanasios residential area. The morphology of the plot is defined by two uneven surfaces. The upper level is located at the west side next to the public road, and the lower level at the east side. In order to address the site conditions, the building is consisted by three volumes, two semi open and one enclosed. The basement is the first volume and is located on the lower level. It contains all the secondary programs such as, gym, games room, boiler room and a storage. The steep inclination of the plot is used for disguising these technical functions and also give the house a two story aspect. The second volume is located on the ground floor, containing all the serving functions to support the main spaces in an open plan layout. The ground floor volume is extended by a cantilever veranda and a projected swimming pool. The living and dinning rooms turn into verandas when their glass windows are widely open to the pool and garden. The third volume is placed on top of the ground floor. Allowing the upper bedrooms to share a more private area than the other two levels. The house seeks to frame the best view of the exterior environment: the lower level opens to the lower garden, the ground floor and the first floor, opens to the opposite hill. The house position is blocking the street view, since it’s located in a corner of a road and a public pathway. Therefore, the site’s core is free from visual intrusion and receives the pool and yard, with the best sun orientation. The building is first seen from the west site, as a unified block, blocking any view to the outsider. The perforated façade emphasizes the main entrance as the user gets closer to the building. The second and third volumes east sites’ are fully glazed. The user can feel protected from the public road traffic and neighbor programs but at the same time is exposed to the scenery view on the east side.
