This project is part of a residential complex located in Parekklisia. A suburb area which currently undergoes a rapid construction development. The specific plot lies on a hill and offers spectacular views of the sea and the Saint Raphael’s marina from above. The house is consisted by three levels. Main concept was to welcome outdoors into the interior and strengthen view frames. Translucency features in a great point all over the house allowing direct relationship with the surrounding garden, water surfaces and views. Ground floor develops in 3 groups. The centered core hosts the main entrance, circulation (staircase, lift) and green spaces which expand from outdoor and interfere to interior. Eastern part includes the communal spaces such as living rooms, dining area and kitchen. These spaces gain shading in south through the upper level’s cantilever and also creates a covered veranda for relaxing outdoors. The swimming pool lines up with the communal spaces and the covered veranda. At west, more privately, there is a guest’s room and an office area. The main sleeping rooms are located on the first floor. All the bedrooms are protected by folded aluminium panels. Unfolding the panels, the bedrooms are exposed to the Mediterranean Sea view. When sun shading is needed, the panels can be folded back and close completely, creating a second skin for the house contributing also to cooling down in warm days. Basement concentrates supportive uses, such as storage, utility rooms, gym, saunas and parking spaces.
