About This Project

The site is located at Eftagonia, a mountain village at a 20-minute drive from Limassol city. Purpose of this project is to work as a holiday retreat which will offer to users interaction with the surrounding landscape.

The project is designed through simple lines, pure forms and a functional layout that conceptualizes a modern imprint. Simplicity of shape and materiality (stone, wood, white surfaces) adapt to the natural landscape and harmonize with it.

The two volumes define the different programs which correspond to different privacy degrees. The horizontal volume is consisted by the communal spaces: an open plan layout where the living room, the dining area and the kitchen are developed. At this area, large openings are placed towards the south and the north. These windows offer framed views of the hills and the wild vegetation which dominates the area and allow to light and air to pass through at a constant flow. Furthermore, they line up with the swimming pool and the outdoor lounge area. When is needed, the space can have protection from weather conditions through the wooden partitions which are able to close and cover the large windows. The vertical volume applies to a more private program and contains all the sleeping and studying rooms.
