About This Project

The site is located in a newly developed residential area in Agios Athanasios. The residential project will be developed in the half share, of a long/narrow shaped plot. The morphology of the plot is defined by an increasing slope. A smooth inclination begins from sidewalk’s level at southeast side and gets steeper towards the edge of the northwest’s side. The steeper side is used for creating an inclined garden area and allows the built volume to be located on the smoother ground level. The house is consisted by two levels. The ground floor is programmed in three axes. The centered axis is defined by circulation and includes the main entrance, staircase and corridors. Also is dividing the main programs from the secondary. The main spaces, such as the living room, dinning area and kitchen are formed on the southeast side. The restroom, laundry room and the office space are located on the northwest area of the house. The upper level interacts with the ground floor through the in between void space. The void allows visual contact with the dining area, kitchen and living room. The central location of it, creates a thermal chimney for the house. Natural air could enter through the ground floor and exit through the void skylights, cooling the house in the summer.
